Monroe County jury convicts man in 2023 Rivoli Road shooting; 15 years to serve

The Towaliga Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office says a Monroe County jury found Ernest Hale-Clark guilty of two counts of aggravated assault. A judge sentenced him to 20 years, with 15 years to serve in prison.

Monroe County investigators said that on July 22, 2023, a vehicle was shot on Rivoli Road in Bolingbroke after a dispute that started in Macon earlier that day. Neither person in the vehicle was injured.

Deputies later tied Hale-Clark's vehicle to the shooting and booked him on aggravated assault and criminal damage to property charges.

The DA's office said the verdict reflects cooperation among law enforcement, the community and prosecutors.
