Two-month Rabun County meth investigation ends with 2 Clayton arrests on trafficking charges, sheriff says

A two-month investigation into suspected methamphetamine sales has ended with the arrests of Christopher Collin Lee, 35, of Clayton, and Kimberly Luann Andrews, 41, of Clayton, according to a press release from Rabun County Sheriff Mark Gerrells posted Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026.

The sheriff's office said it received multiple complaints in August 2026 about individuals suspected of selling methamphetamine in the community and opened a criminal investigation.

According to the sheriff's office, investigators seized approximately 4.75 ounces of methamphetamine, 22 oxycodone pills, 1.34 grams of fentanyl and two bottles containing suspected GHB. The sheriff's office said those amounts are preliminary and unofficial.

Charges: According to the sheriff's office, Lee is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Trafficking a Schedule I Controlled Substance, and Obstruction. Andrews is charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Trafficking a Schedule I Controlled Substance, and Obstruction.

In the release, Sheriff Gerrells thanked the citizens who provided information and the investigators who worked the case, and said his office will continue working to combat illegal drug distribution in Rabun County.
