Just after 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2026, a Cordele Police Department officer patrolling near 16th Avenue and Hickory Street stopped a vehicle after observing suspicious driving and finding an active warrant on the registered owner.

The Cordele Police Department thanked officers for their work protecting community safety. The driver has been charged, not convicted. An arrest is not a finding of guilt. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. No driver name or mugshot was published in the official release at the time of this report.
