The Jones County Sheriff's Office says it received a call Thursday, Oct. 1, reporting the death of a 7-year-old boy who had been dead for several days at a Jones County home.

Investigators say caretakers George Togeg and Reva Ogles knew the child had died two days earlier and did not call authorities or seek medical help until Thursday night. Both were arrested at the home and charged with concealing a death and first-degree cruelty to children.

The sheriff's office says the death investigation is ongoing, an autopsy is pending, and more charges may follow.

Any County News is not naming the child.

Charged, not convicted: Charges are accusations. Both are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
