Warner Robins armed robbery and carjacking suspects arrested after high-speed chase from Macon's Rocky Creek Road, Bibb deputies say
Two suspects wanted in a Warner Robins armed robbery and carjacking are in custody after a high-speed chase that started when a Bibb County deputy spotted their stolen car going 92 mph on Rocky Creek Road in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said Patrol Division Cpl. John Kile tried to stop a stolen Nissan Altima with an Alabama tag that was connected to the Warner Robins armed robbery and carjacking. According to the sheriff's office, the driver would not stop and drove recklessly at excessive speeds, ignoring traffic signals and trying to strike patrol vehicles during the pursuit.
The chase ended when the car went the wrong way on an interstate exit ramp and crashed down a steep embankment, the sheriff's office said. Both suspects ran into a wooded area and were arrested by deputies, according to the sheriff's office.
The Peach County Sheriff's Office, Byron Police Department and Warner Robins Police Department joined the Bibb County Sheriff's Office in the pursuit and the arrests, the sheriff's office said.
The two men, from Buena Vista and Warner Robins, were turned over to the Warner Robins Police Department to face charges, and both also face additional charges from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, according to the sheriff's office. The sheriff's office did not release their names, ages or the specific charges.
