On Sept. 15, 2026, Aiken County Code Enforcement — assisted by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the Aiken Department of Public Safety — seized 2 horses in an alleged cruelty investigation on Henry Street in Aiken, South Carolina.

Code Enforcement confirmed two horses were seized. According to arrest warrants, Lowman Leon Jamison II of North, South Carolina, claimed ownership of a black horse and a white horse. He was charged with 2 counts of cruelty/neglect of animals and booked at the Aiken County detention center.

Warrants and reporting by the Aiken Standard say the horses allegedly lacked adequate food, water, and shelter on roughly 0.039 acres; both had been wearing a saddle and blanket for several days; and one was tethered without water access. Officials say the investigation remains open. Tips: enforcement@aikencountysc.gov.

Verified Sept. 15, 2026 from WJBF NewsChannel 6, the Aiken Standard / Post and Courier, and WRDW. This is distinct from an older multi-horse R&B Way case. An arrest is not a conviction — all individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
